We assume dance today as a prohibited practice, both for its aggregative and live nature, and for the continuous risk of physical and epidermal relationship that it naturally brings with it.
Let’s forget about dance as a “product” to re-discuss it.
We open the doors, we make visible the intimacy of creation, the approach to a choreography that has yet to be done. The choreographic investigation lets itself be passed through.
There is no designated place for the public. All the space is accessible.
We look to the past to imagine a future.
A bar is located at the entrance.
On September 25th, Nanou will open rehearsals to the choreographic devices that are driving the creation of the next work, Arsura . A one-day journey of trials and errors, comparisons, chatter that culminates with the staging of a prototype. The imagination is unleashed starting from the bodily mechanisms, passing through the dynamics of space and adding, over time, the visual signs that characterize the language of the company.
A notebook that notes the creative strategies for arriving at a composition revealed when the sun goes down.
Choreographic notes:
Space is vast.
The vastness lies in the choice of encountering a desert that lets itself be looked at.
Not a dramatized or emphasized desert, but simply inhabited.
The point of view suggested is always a very long field.
The dance takes on cubist characters, the gestures lose all trace of naturalism to transform into an abstract choreography, the meaning of which is in the desire to bridge or conquer the distance between the gaze (of the spectator) and the bodies in action.
The only certain thing are the images produced by the bodies and immediately pulverized into abstraction.
The dance considers all possible trajectories, transforming weights and forces into matter that reverberates up to the epidermis of the gaze.
The dance action is a continuous search for relational tension between the elements in the field.
