Species of Spaces – I’m Not Human at All is a three-day project intertwining talks, DJ sets, and performative actions.
The main title, “Species of Spaces”, is a tribute to Georges Perec’s book (Espèces d’espaces, 1974), which explores the relationship between writing and places, between the everyday and the imaginary. The subtitle, “I’m Not Human at All”, is taken from a song by Sleep Party People and refers to the creation of bodies “among bodies,” presences suspended between the recognizable and otherness.
Each day unfolds in three parts:
- Public talks with guests from different disciplines, all connected through their work on the body and perception.
- DJ sets that open and close each evening, turning listening into a moment of shared sociality: Francesca Morello aka R.Y.F., Stefania Pedretti aka Alos, and Bruno Dorella.
- Performative actions by gruppo nanou, featuring Carolina Amoretti on stage, as part of the ongoing studies for the Overlook Hotel cycle. A research project exploring the creation of imagined rooms and spaces, and the relationship with the figure that inhabits them.
The evenings are conceived as a continuous flow: stories, thoughts, actions, and sounds follow one another without interruption, composing a perceptual landscape in constant transformation. The choreographic action becomes the construction of a welcoming environment, capable of fostering the formation of a temporary community.
Species of Spaces – I’m Not Human at All aims to shape an ephemeral and collective identity, where playfulness intertwines with cultural content and each evening renews itself as a unique experience. To recall the project’s convivial and open dimension, the bar will remain open throughout: a tangible reminder that the space of art is, at the same time, a place of encounter.
