The first project of the evening, experienced in the Sala Sant’Anna of the beautiful complex of convent origin that houses Dance Gallery, is by gruppo nanou and shares with Fuori Quadro — discussed in the first part of the festival account — both the desire to rethink the relationship between the arts as a metaphorical space of action and relation, and a chromatic and compositional aesthetic.

The subject here is Camera 2046, a work born within the broader project Overlook Hotel, exploring the deep connection between choreography and cinematic language. The title evokes the room from Wong Kar-wai's masterpiece, and the piece presents itself as a choreographic solo for Marina Bertoni — a performative presence already distinguished for the clarity of her gesture in the performance within the Galleria Nazionale for Fuori Quadro, where a figure with a hidden face manifests and dissolves, animating the space with lights and shadows that evoke everyday intimacy and the abstraction of Francis Bacon's paintings. gruppo nanou's presence at the festival, already supported by an artistic residency in Perugia, confirms Umbria Danza Festival's vocation as a platform for the most ambitious choreographic research — capable of interrogating artistic languages and weaving unexpected dialogues between the contemporary scene and the memory of cultural heritage.
