From 2 to 6 August, five days of choreographic workshop conducted by Marco Valerio Amico and Monica Francia in Ravenna in the spaces of Artificerie Almagià.

The Alphabet method conducted by Marco Valerio Amico is a direct dialogue with dancers for the transmission and verification of the choreographic writing process of gruppo nanou. The meeting is an empirical procedure: by going through some choreographic instructions to activate a system of improvisation and instantaneous writing, the knots of a possible writing of the body and of the scene are highlighted, making the dancer aware of the choreographic system and of his authorial skills. The instructions are abstract to let each body work with its own identity.

Monica Francia's work consists of experimenting with rigorous physical training, which uses the body and the contact between bodies as the main tools for self-knowledge in acting and interacting with others.
The contact with other bodies, limited by precise practices, acts as a mechanical and emotional experiment for the construction of a stage awareness.
All this is not aimed at the reproduction of choreographic scores, but you use these scores to find a state of abandonment to the outside, to the sensations, to the emotions.
This state, not a single will, produces movement.
The laboratory places the bodies in a structured intimacy to be an experiment, to test oneself and activate a new perception.
