Exodus – Space, the third episode of the quadrilogy Exodus, a gruppo nanou research project inspired by Sebastião Salgado’s work Exodus.

A video, a photographic memory in motion, a heterodox work that continues the experimentation between stage and visual languages, highlighting the collaboration between gruppo nanou, photographer Daniele Casadio, and musician Bruno Dorella.
During the rehearsals for redrum, gruppo nanou accepted the commission from MAR – Museum of Art of the City of Ravenna to create Esodo, a composition in four choreographic movements inspired by Sebastião Salgado’s exhibition Exodus.

Space functions as a sensitive body: a field of forces that shapes perception, directs the gaze, and structures distances and proximities.
Bodies move through the environment as intermittent presences, measuring emptiness, passage, and suspension. Choreography emerges as a dynamic relationship between body, light, and architecture, generating a constantly evolving perceptual composition.

The work extends Esodo’s research into the dialogue between photographic image, choreographic action, and sound, opening up an expanded perception of time and space in which the viewer actively redefines their point of view.

Produced in collaboration with MAR – Museo d’Arte della Città di Ravenna, with curatorial collaboration by Giorgia Salerno.

The body, light and space become tools to return the vibration of the image, evading narrative but not meaning. Bruno Dorella‘s music, from the redrum soundtrack, highlights the creative genesis between the two projects.
