A choreographic episode among the photographs of Sebastião Salgado.

A video, a photographic memory in motion, a heterodox work that continues the experimentation between scenic and visual languages, enhancing the collaboration between nanou group, photographer Daniele Casadio and musician Bruno Dorella.

During rehearsals for redrum, gruppo nanou accepted a commission from MAR – Ravenna City Art Museum to create Exodus, a composition in four choreographic movements inspired by Sebastião Salgado‘s exhibition Exodus.

In Exodus – The Body, presented within the museum itinerary, movement confronts the photographic image, traverses it, rewrites it. The audience, after visiting the exhibition, finds itself immersed in a site-specific choreography, located in the final room of the museum, in a direct confrontation between presence and vision.

The body, light and space become tools to return the vibration of the image, evading narrative but not meaning. Bruno Dorella‘s music, from the redrum soundtrack, highlights the creative genesis between the two projects.
