NAPLES - The 2026 season of Körper | Centro Nazionale di Produzione Della Danza, founded in 2003 by Gennaro Cimmino, kicked off with a special evening. It was inaugurated by gruppo nanou, with redrum a choreographic installation with five dancers and a performer that won the Ubu Prize for Best Dance Performance in 2024 (an opening choice that was not accidental, being the winner ex equo together with Stuporosa by Francesco Marilungo, a Körper production). A performance that is an homage to Shining, both Stephen King's novel and Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation. To present it, Körper's total black theater space was freed of seating to become an open space (with a few chairs placed close to the perimeter of the room), traversed by red runners that crossed each other and seemed to point the way to the dancers. What is special about the performance is that the action has no boundaries, and spectators are invited to move among the performers to change their view. The result is an orderly chaos in which the onlookers tiptoe around losing themselves in their own thoughts and emotions that the stage action procures. Intimate emotions, but also shared with smiles and glances. The work is signed by Marco Valerio Amico artistic director of group nanou, among the most acclaimed choreographers of our time together with Rhuena Bracci who, on this occasion, signs the costumes. Especially fond of the original music performed live by Bruno Dorella. On stage, all very good, Carolina Amoretti, Marina Bertoni, Rhuena Bracci, Andrea Dionisi, Agnese Gabrielli, Marco Maretti. Redrum is the first chapter of nanou group's multi-year Overlook Hotel project, to be seen soon.
