On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the “Second Room” of the Motel project, we publish the full video made by Giulia Fontanini.
It was May 8, 2010.
The company had found productive support from Teatro Era, Fabbrica Europa and ZTL-Pro, the latter was the union of some independent Roman realities that had found economies to support the dance and research theater productively. Among these realities was the Rialto which is now facing important problems.
The Motel project continued, which would have engaged the company until 2011, producing three shows that would have given life to a trilogy, a real work in three acts that marked the language of the nanou group and its relationship with photography and cinema.
A minimal choreography written in the smallest detail to build a photographic sequence inspired by Edward Hopper’s paintings.
With the Second Room, the meeting with the light designer Fabio Sajizwas confirmed, who followed the whole trilogy and who is still a collaborator of present and future projects.
Photographer Laura Arlotti followed the project entirely by winning, with her photos, the Hystrio prize for photography and presenting the shots in Lisbon for “Luz Negra” in 2018.
The Second room touched important places like Unidram (Potsdam, DE), Les Brigittines (Bruxelles, B), Centrale Fies (Dro, IT), Fabbrica Europa (Firenze, IT), Inequilibrio (Castiglioncello, IT) and many others.
