“Specie di spazi” is the annual event through which Nanou reimagines community and the use of spaces through the art of dance. A day of thoughts, sounds, and bodies to build an unstable, collective environment, somewhere between mystery and imagination, in collaboration with Denara, Manualetto, and Armonika. Forces unite; bodies intertwine.
The title pays homage to Georges Perec’s book (Espèces d’espaces, 1974), an exploration of the relationship between writing and places, between everyday life and the imagination.
The day unfolds as a continuous flow: stories, thoughts, actions, and sounds follow one another in a single breath, composing a constantly shifting perceptual landscape. The choreographed action creates a dynamic environment capable of giving rise to a temporary community.
Special guest Armonika: a sound platform, a miraculous ritual, and a workshop in social interaction—an upside-down world where rest alternates with hallucination and people dance with improbable slowness, amid a mix of languages.
This type of space fosters a fleeting, collective identity, where a playful atmosphere complements the cultural content. The bar remains open from opening to closing time: a tangible sign of an art space that is also a gathering place.
“Specie di spazi ” is made possible thanks to the support of the Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna, in collaboration with Denara, Studio Doiz, E Production, and Rete Almagià, and hosted by Manualetto.
