[...] The recent work of gruppo nanou is also particularly significant from this point of view. It recognizes the need for research on praxis guided by clarity, method, rules: almost an obsession, capable of transmitting the key to access a show and then leaving room for imaginative freedom. If the Alphabet, launched in 2017 to oppose the cliché that defines contemporary dance as difficult to read, is a mechanism explicitly aimed at finding this clarity starting from shared terms and rules, the relationship between maps, grids and codes on the one hand, and creative freedom on the other, he leads the spectacular results of the group led by Marco Valerio Amico. The latest creation, still under development, is an example of this. Paradiso has been presented, in recent months, in "sketches" based on 33-minute replicas in which, starting from predetermined elements, space is left for the unexpected: the choreographic elements are assembled randomly, with combinations of performers that change every day preventing automatic repetition.
