From 16 to 18 July [Bozzetto SN – 001] at Ravenna Festival 2021 will premiere gruppo nanou’s new creation, PARADISO [Bozzetto SN – 001], the first step of a long research project with the support of the Municipality of Ravenna - Department of Culture, the Monte di Bologna and Ravenna Foundation and Ravenna Festival.
Paradiso is a collaboration among gruppo nanou, a contemporary dance and research company based in Ravenna, and the artist Alfredo Pirri; a choreographic project in synergy with visual art that will take place in 2022. It is the beginning of a journey dedicated to Dante's third canticle - seen as another space, an "another" inhabited by light and evanescent figures; a long cinematic field where dive yourself thanks to the music of Bruno Dorella. The choreographic action merge with the space until it becomes an essential part of it, taking on contours and connotations. At the same time, space is place, design, architecture independent of bodies and objects, relating to them as an elastic matter that, if impacted, takes on the image to immediately resume its appearance of original and distant matter.
Access for 33 people at a time for 33 minutes for 7 appointments repeated over 3 days in which an infinite number of choreographic visions will make each sketch a unique combination.
The production process begins in 2019 and ends in July 2022.
Its first concrete form will be [Bozzetto SN - 001] from 16 to 18 July 2021. Research and verification steps aimed at the construction of a total performative space that eliminates the concept of the beginning and end of a show as well as its frontal use will follow. From next spring, for four months, in the city of Ravenna, a space will be inhabited by the synergy of the artists involved. It will be an always active place aimed at an impromptu community that will access the performance as an exhibition or a refreshment space.
An artistic reflection to assert the need for LIVE EXPERIENCE at a time when aggregation has a sense of forbidden, as well as dance, body, touching and closeness between bodies. A concept that must be regained and valued starting from the thought of how choreography can face and build places and relationships.
