Within the La democrazia del corpo season (February–May 2026), redrum arrives in Florence for the first time.
It marks gruppo nanou’s return to Florence with the performance awarded the 2024 Premio Ubu for Best Dance Performance.
redrum is a stripped-down work, without concessions: a perceptual device in which body, light, and sound build a field of continuous tension. The action withdraws from narrative to generate unstable images, apparitions, thresholds. Time bends; vision remains suspended.
Included in the La democrazia del corpo programme, redrum engages with a season that places the body at the centre as a political, sensitive, and irreducible space. At CANGO, a historic site for choreographic research, the work finds a precise and necessary context.
Choreographic workshop by nanou / Rhuena Bracci and Marco Valerio Amico
April 30, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Cango, 25 Santa Maria Street
Nanou’s language arises from the encounter between two practices that share the body as a site of construction.
Rhuena Bracci’s work focuses on the relationship between flesh and time. The body is understood as sensitive matter, traversed by states, intensities and transformations. The practice investigates a threshold: a body no longer everyday, but not yet performative, in which movement is organized from a perceptual availability and a quality of presence. Marco Valerio Amico’s work develops as the construction of a choreographic system. The body is traversed by rules, devices and conditions that generate organizations of movement. It is a matter of activating a language: an alphabet that is composed over time, where choreography emerges as a flexible structure, shared and continuously rewritten.
In the workshop, these two directions intertwine: on the one hand the emergence of a state of the body, on the other the construction of a choreographic system. The work proceeds by accumulation, detour and listening, relating structure and sensibility, rule and transformation.
The workshop is free by reservation.
